Chuck Banta, Jr. is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. Chuck purchased the family business from his father in 1989.
Under Chuck's direction, the company has grown from four million in annual sales to over one hundred million. In addition to growing the company, he has changed the company's focus from retail produce to full line foodservice distribution. Today, Banta Foods is a thriving and prominent regional full line foodservice distributor, with customers ranging from corporate national chains to local independent restaurateurs.
Chuck grew up in the family business working in different positions while attending school. He graduated from Springfield public schools and went on to attend the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO on a football scholarship. While at MU he received a varsity football letter for three years as well as all conference honors his senior year. In addition, he was elected into the Mystical Seven Honor Society his senior year.
After graduating in 1977 with a bachelors degree, Chuck went to work for the family business in a full time position. He started in sales then worked in purchasing and was promoted to general manager in 1982.

Chuck is married; his wife Beth is self-employed, and they have three children who range in age from college to middle school.
Chuck's business beliefs are centered on the Golden Rule that his father taught him long ago. "To treat others the way you want to be treated."
